Tiles combine based on color and number. The number on a new tile, unlike in 2048, is not the result of addition. The player chooses a tile that is connected to other tiles that display the same number. All matching tiles are merged into that tile's location on the board. A new tile with the next-highest number in a standard number sequence forms. For instance, two or more 2 tiles can combine to form 3 tiles. Two or more three-tile groups combine to form a four-tile group, and so on.
When the player selects the correct tile in a connected group, the merge may position the new tile next to a tile with the same number. For example, a player could choose a 4 tile next to a 5 tile to connect all other connected 4 tiles to it. The new 5-tile is directly adjacent to an existing 5-tile. The player can repeat the process until the 5 tiles add up to 10 and a new 6 tile is created.
