Each monster block removed from a board of seven rows of 35 blocks earns the player points. To earn the blue stars, they must earn a certain number of points per level before time runs out.
In Level 1, for example, they must earn 500 points for a single star, 750 points for two stars, and 1,000 points for three stars. They only have one minute to get the highest possible score. They get more points if they connect a long chain of blocks rather than just two or three at a time.
Monsteropia allows the player to connect two or more blocks by drawing horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines. It tests the player by increasing the number of points required per level to reach a certain number of stars.
